About us

Zone 7 was founded in 2008 by Mikey Azzara, at the encouragement of farmers and chefs. That year, we started with 10 farms, picking up and delivering farm fresh produce in an effort to bridge the gap between talented local growers and chefs that were looking for locally produced food.

Seventeen seasons in, Zone 7 is still making connections with local farms, and food producers and area customers. Today, we work with over 75 farms and have expanded our offerings to include value added, locally made products crafted in our region by small and mid-sized businesses. All of our sales team members have 10+ years of experience in local food systems, including farming, farmers markets, farm to school programs, culinary arts, and distribution.

Zone is a team effort. We are experts in local food, committed to building and sustaining strong connections between growers, producers, and eaters in our region, 52 weeks of the year. We’re passionate about high quality, unique varieties, and great flavors in the many products we offer, and believe in supporting the growers that push the agricultural envelope by producing these items. By creating a culture of shared values, transparency, communication, accessibility, and honesty with our customers, suppliers, and staff, we’re always pushing towards our goal – to strengthen the local and regional food system.
